The characteristic of eosinophilic meningoencephalitis which occurs during the first stages with a lymphocytic pleocytosis resulting in a erroneous diagnosis of viral meningoencephalitis as it happened to be in 3 of 5 cases, are analyzed. The peripheral eosinophilia allows for the diagnosis which can be confirmed by the evolutive study of the cerebrospinal fluid when the eosinophilic conversion is proved. Intracranial hypertension overshadows the prognosis which if not recognized and treated early may results in death. Our experience with one case is treatment antibiotics, and antiparasite therapy resulted in the hypertension, and the profusion of lesions evidence by nuclear magnetic resonance.
