ISSN 1561-302X.

200 hypertensive patients in all their stages were studied in Plaza Municipality, Havana City, aimed at analyzing and describing the pharmacological treatment followed and at evaluating the indication and fulfillment of the non-pharmacological treatment. A descriptive cross-sectional study with selection of the study group by single-stage conglomerate was conducted. The 272 family physicians’ offices of this municipality were the conglomerates. 10 of them were selected. It was observed that the benefits of the non-pharmacological treatment were not used adequately and that there was an improvement in relation to previous reports on the administration of antihypertensive agents (pharmacological treatment), although there were deficiencies to overcome in this important aspect, since anxyolitics and sedatives were still prescribed as antihypertensive elective agents.
