It is described the Model of Attention to Climateric Women (MACLI) established as a health service to give attention to middle-aged women. In order to structure the MACLI, it was used the bibliographic review and the judgement of experts. 189 women who received medical attention at the Climaterium Department of the "Ramón González Coro" Gynecoobstetric Hospital, in Havana City, were studied. Every patient was interviewed in detail. The technique of content analysis was used to analyze the information. Among the patients it prevailed a favorable acceptance of the work carried out by the multidisciplinary team. The most frequent symptoms were heat, sweatings, vaginal dryness, dispareunia, reduction of the libido, depression, anxiety and irratibility. The vasomotor and psychobehavioral symptons predominated in the postmenopausia. The MACLI introduces the medicosocial factors as part of the comprehensive clinical diagnosis of the climateric woman.
