In order to evaluate the maternal characteristics and the perinatal results in the chronologically prolonged pregnancy, a study was conducted at “Justo Legón Padilla” Gynecoobstetric Teaching Hospital, from July, 1999, to February, 2000. The study group was composed of all the pregnant women that gave birth with 42 weeks or more (n = 320). Different maternal and perinatal variables were evaluated.
