Resumen
BORGES HELPS, Alexis et al. Patrones de flujo transmitral en pacientes con hipertensión arterial esencial. Rev Cub Med Mil [online]. 2004, vol.33, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3046.
The behavior of the diastolic function was evaluated by pulsed doppler echocardiography in patients with essential arterial hypertension. A descriptive longitudinal study was conducted among 400 essential hypertensive male patients aged 30-60 from 1998 to 2000. The most remarkable results were observed in type I pattern, where 73 % of the patients corresponded to the high normal group. In the type II pattern, 68 % corresponded to severe arterial hypertension. Captopril was the most effective drug in all types of arterial hypertension. It was concluded that the study of the patterns of the transmitral flow in the essential hypertensive patients has been very useful and that the patients with diastolic dysfunction may be treated so as not to develop heart failure.
