The case of a 21-year-old patient with 12 weeks of gestation that was candidate to pharmacological abortion with Misoprostol, according to the protocol of the Abortion Service of “Dr. Carlos J Finlay ” Central Military Hospital , and to the method established to this end, was presented. As it failed, it was decided to perform abortion. A fetus with necrobiosis signs was extracted, and antibiotic treatment was indicated. Vaginal bleeding started one hour later with hemodynamic consequences associated with a consumption coagulopathy with important haemolysis that required obstetrical hysterectomy and referring her to the ICU. The patient died in less than 24 hours with a picture of multiorgan failure. Pathologic anatomy evidenced the presence of cane-shaped gram-positive bacteria, compatible with Clostridium perfringes . Mondor's syndrome diagnosis was concluded.
