IFOPOLs was evaluated by means of the Acute Toxicity Class Method and the Dermal Acute Toxicity Assay. In the Acute Toxicity Class Method, 6 female Cenp: SPRD rats were used. They were maintained with a granulated EMO: 1004 diet and water, both sterilized and given ad libintum, except 12 hours before the administration of the substance, in which they stayed unfed, and were applied an only dose of 2000 mg/kg of PC of IFOPOLs by oral route. In the Dermal Acute Toxicity, 10 Cenp: NZW rabbits (5 females and 5 males) were used. They were maintained with a CMO: 1400 granulated diet and sterile water, both given ad libintum administered in the dose of 2000 mg/kg. There was an observation period 14 days in both assays. In such period, the environmental conditions and the appearance of toxicity and death signs were measured daily. In rabbits, observations included change in skin (irritation signs), as well as the body weight in the days 0, 7 14 of the assay. Outputs evidenced that IFOPOLs did not cause deaths, nor toxicity signs in the animals which maintained a weight curve in increment in both studies. Macroscopic alterations were not evidenced in rabbit skin, cavities or organs. By the Acute Toxicity Class Method, IFOPOLs is not classified; and in the dose of 2000 mg/kg of PC it did not cause Toxicity in the Dermal Acute Toxicity Assay in Cenp: NZW rabbits.
