On May 21, 1951 the Municipal Bulletin informed the creation of the Art History Pavilions in the hands of the Municipal Commision of Culture, with the acquisition abroad of reproductions of famous works of art, educational panels, and all kinds of necessary materials for the space for educational purposes. Fernando Esteban Garcia, an outstanding teacher and architect of the time, was responsible for the selection and purchase of the copies, wich will be then part of the current Museum of Art History (MuHAr) in Montevideo, Uruguay. The present work is discussed analyzes the Mission Garcia Esteban, wich refers to the purchases made by Garcia Esteban in Europe. These work of art replicas were acquired with the intention of forming a place dedicated to the learning of art and the artistic evolution of Humanity. We highlight how significant this space is in the dissemination and expansion of artistic culture for the general public.
