The investigation article summarizes aspects epistemological in the analysis of the administration of the formative evaluation of the educational ones of the National University of Education of Ecuador. In the text four discursive-argumentative moments of the hand of the documental analysis, the etymological analysis and approach are developed to the definition of the concepts of formative evaluation and administration of the formative evaluation, as basic processes of the study. Later on with the help of the hermeneutic contributions related with the administration of the formative evaluation are evaluated as part of the educational university student's professional improvement, with contextual character and like demand of the formative pattern of this Institution of Superior Education. This whole process allows to declare features of the lack epistemological of the study object. In the conclusions the theoretical hole is declared and with it is contributed it to a new area of pedagogic investigation.
