SALDANA BERNABEU, Alberto; GARCIA TRIANA, Bárbara Elena; ENAMORADO CASANOVA, Antonio y GARCIA PINEIRO, José Carlos. El estrés oxidativo en la fisiopatología del trasplante renal. Rev Cubana Invest Bioméd [online]. 1999, vol.18, n.3, pp. 225-230. ISSN 1561-3011.
The main evidences that have appeared in literature during the last years and that link the reactive oxygen spedes to the physiopathological mechanism that result from kidney transplantation vere collected in this paper. These findings showed that the deleterous action of the toxic metabolites derived from oxygen is involved in the ischemia-reperfusion phenomenon that is characteristic of any type of transplantation and in the episodes of acute rejection to graft. It was also analyzed the possible relationship between the generation of reactive oxygen species and the immunosupressing therapy or the late vascular changes that are against the graft survival.
