DIESTE SANCHEZ, Waldo; SUAREZ MARTINEZ, René; CARRILLO SALOMON, Ricardo y BETANCOURT DIESTE, Heriberto. Morbilidad con incapacidad laboral temporal en una refinería de petróleo, según ocupaciones. Rev Cubana Med Gen Integr [online]. 2002, vol.18, n.1, pp. 14-21. ISSN 1561-3038.
To determine the level of work morbidity with temporary disability by occupations, we used information from work records and medical certificates of 1322 permanent workers of an oil refinery, who have been working in the same occupation and department or workplace for 8 years or more. Sex had an influence on the studied morbidity, and on most of the diagnostic groups when we applied ratio difference tests. Those occupations that contributed the most to morbidity and the most frequent causes of disability were identified. This type of study provides the family physician that takes care of a working population with useful information.
