The methodology that made possible the family planning design with the participative community resource and its use in the principles of the Strategic Planning Approach is described. This methodology states 3 basic aspects: the characterization of the reality to be modified, the identification, priority and explanation of the problems and the design of the project to attain the view. The population of Jaimanitas in Playa Municipality, Havana City, was chosen for the implementation of the methodology. The applicability of the proposal for the attainment of the desing in terms of viability and feasibility was proved through the use of this methodology.
