Resumen
ARANA LABRADA, Franklyn et al. Detection of potyviruses in pepper plants (Capsicum annuum L.) and associated aphids in Cuba. Rev. Protección Veg. [online]. 2015, vol.30, n.3, pp. 235-238. ISSN 2224-4697.
The aim of this work was to detect the presence of potyviruses in pepper plants (Capsicum annuum L.) with symptoms of mottling and in aphids associated with the crop in the main production areas of eastern, central, and western regions of Cuba by RT-PCR with generic primers. Total RNA was extracted and cDNA was synthesized from collected samples. The aphids were identified as Myzus persicae (Sulzer). Potyvirus detection was successfully achieved in the samples from the three regions, which indicated that they were widely distributed in the pepper production areas of the country.
