Resumen

A cross-sectional, descriptive study was carried out in hypertensive patients with ischemic cardiopathy in Manuel Ascunce. Domenech Prov. Hospital within the periosd from July 1st, 1996 to July 1st, 1998. As to arterial hypertension stages, moderate was the highest, prevailing it in the femenine sex in 28 patients (28%) (p< 0.05). It was observed that arterial hypertension (AH) increases with age, being more frequent in 65 years group and over. The was prevalence of hypertensive subjects of white skin for 66%, the ischemic cardipathy more related with AH was the angina pectoris in 62 patients, was that of anticalcic (Nifedipine0 in 74 patiens, beta-blockers had higher performance, they were used in 35 patients allowing the control of 25 of them for 71, 4% (p<0, 05), the most frequent complications were encphalic vascular injuries in 10 patiens, only 4 ill patients died, 3 of the femenine sex and 1 of the masculine one.
