The role of hemostasia is invoke in the most frequent consequences of the atherosclerosis (the thrombosis and the embolism). In the revision, current aspects about hemostasia atherosclerosis relation are exposed, being emphasized above all the fibrinolytic mechanisms, that participate in the recanalization of the blood vessel so as to the blood flows freely, as important factors of this process. As well as the role that perform the cells’ components (platelets) and plasmatic (coagulation factors) that intervene in the formation of the thrombus, and its relation with the lipid metabolism. Finally medicamentosus and dietetic alternatives for the improvement of the hemostatic profile are presented, given by the importance of every doctor and health professional should be known with the objective of its disclosure, thus it reflects the work of the community and educational prevention of health.
