PEREIRA RECIO, Héctor y CHAVEZ GUERRA, Víctor. Ultrasonographic diagnosis of complications in the patient with acute renal failure renal postransplantation. AMC [online]. 2007, vol.11, n.5, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1025-0255.
Renal transplantation is an efficient method in the treatment of patients with irreversible renal failure. The mode-B and Doppler ultrasound is important in the diagnosis of complications. A cross-sectional descriptive study in 32 patients with renal transplantation was conducted, who developed acute renal failure in the immediate and early postrasplantation from April 2004 to April 2005 with the objective of reviewing its usefulness in the diagnosis of complications that produce acute renal failure in transplanted patients. The present echographic signs in each complication were studied and the indicators of sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values and global effectiveness were determined, proving that the ultrasound is useful if it is performed with a right clinical criterion having little sensitivity and specificity to differentiate the cause of dysfunction when it is functional, these indicators are better when is an anatomical cause.
