CAMPOS VIANA, Vera Regina; ALVES, Helio M; SIMOES, Cláudia y LUA FIGUEIREDO, Solange Faria. PRODUÇÃO DE 4-NEROLIDILCATECOL EM SUSPENSÕES CELULARES DE POTHOMORPHE UMBELLATA (L.) MIQ ( PIPERACEAE ). Rev Cubana Plant Med [online]. 2004, vol.9, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1028-4796.
In this study we presented data related to the establishment of Pothomorphe umbellata cell suspension culture initiated from friable callus. Callus obtained from foliar blade explants of plants developed in vivo, were cultivated in MS medium supplemented with 1,0 mg.L-1 2,4-D + 0,1mg.L-1 BA. Cell suspension media were analyzed in relation to their effect on the production of 4-nerolidylcathechol and cell mass yield. MS supplemented with 20g.L-1 glucose + 1,0 mg.L-1 2,4-D + 0,1 mg.L-1 BA was the most efficient for cell biomass production while MS supplemented with 30g.L-1 sucrose + 1,0 mg.L-1 2,4-D + 0,1 mg.L-1 BA was the most efficient for 4-nerolidylcathechol production. Elicitation with glucana stimulated the synthesis of the substance and was positively influenced by incubation time and elicitor concentration. Maximum concentration of 4-nerolidylcatechol (862,38 mg/g DW) was obtained after incubation with 75 mg glucana/g cell FW for 24 h. This value is higher than those produced by plants developed in vivo and by non-elicitated cell suspensions.
