MARTINEZ TELLEZ, Yaumara  y  ACOSTA NORDET, Maritza Caridad. Quality of nursing care in the Hemodialysis Department of "Giraldo Aponte Fonseca" Polyclinic. MEDISAN [online]. 2016, vol.20, n.7, pp. 907-915. ISSN 1029-3019.

An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study, aimed at evaluating the quality of nursing care in the Hemodialysis Department of "Giraldo Aponte Fonseca" Polyclinic was carried out in Guamá, Santiago de Cuba, from January, 2014 to May, 2015, for which the total of patients with kidney failure assisted and of nurses promoting their care was considered, besides the methodology proposed by the Public Health Faculty in Havana that comprises the evaluation of the structure elements, the processes and results, on the base of criteria, indicators and standards. The results evidenced inadequacy of the controlled material resources, the nursing professional's dissatisfaction with the recognition of their working achievements by the managers and with the periodic medical checkups, and patients' dissatisfaction regarding feeding; so that the importance of implementing and evaluating the good practices guides was demonstrated to identify the aspects that interfere or promote the care quality of these patients
