From people who acquire dengue, 10 % of them become seriously ill in the first days; it is not yet possible to make an accurate diagnosis only based on clinical and epidemiological diagnosis and either to predict the severity of future behavior of disease. This article is aimed at familiarize health researchers and students with the use of biomarkers for predicting the severity of dengue to integrate interdisciplinary team for making translational research.  The effective laboratory method for diagnosing dengue are described and also the clinical prediction based on different biomarkers,
