Diplomas are designed to achieve in its graduates the competence necessary depending on determined profiles of performance. In the National Institute of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology professors gave a from a distance Diploma in Environmental Toxicology, Microbiology and Health Chemistry to contribute to improvement and strengthening of training of the professional staff linked to edition of this Diploma from the point of view of graduate to identify elements allowing to improve its design and execution in others editions. A cross-sectional study was conducted using as tool an initial questionnaire and another final self-applied by graduates. There were 20 graduates from the La Habana, Las Tunas, Gramma, Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo provinces. The 100 % of graduate considered that the fact of receive the Diploma contributed to some change in its professional life. In the general analysis of roles with the contribution of this postgraduate course, it is appreciate in descendent order, that influence of it was greater in the professional's role of in its performance in scientific-techniques services (70 %), like a researcher (65 %) and like professor (35 %). We conclude that the Diploma had a positive assessment by part of graduates and that it is necessary to improve features including communication between professors and the students, the accessibility to course and the evaluating tools to improve the quality of the teaching-learning process in near editions.
