Resumen
CABRERA ESTUPINAN, Eric y ALOMA BARCELO, Alejandro. Oil industry fire extinguishing system design. Part 2. Thermal radiation models. riha [online]. 2015, vol.36, n.3, pp. 18-32. ISSN 1680-0338.
In the first part of this paper a critical analysis of the main models existing in the literature to calculate thermal radiation from a large pool fire «atmospheric tank fire» (a fundamental element to define the neighborhood between tanks) is performed. In this contribution a computational tool created by authors and called GMpoolfire with implementation of the point source model and surface emitter model is presented. This tool is applied to several case studies which serve as the basis for defining the neighbor tank criterion and fire scenarios. The results obtained are used in the third part of the paper for the implementation of the so called detailed pipe network model
