This article carries out a study on the profile of competences that should characterize the Master in Professional Pedagogy. It is the result of the curricular improvement experienced by the Master's program in Professional Pedagogy that takes place at the University of Holguín, towards its presentation to the external evaluation process developed by the National Accreditation Board of the Ministry of Higher Education in Cuba. The research developed is documentary of an interpretative - comprehensive type. Methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction and document review were useful. A structured competence profile is provided in the teaching - methodological and research - innovation directions, which at the same time reveal their levels of training and evidence of their development and how is complemented by the cross-sectional competences that the Master in Professional Pedagogy must develop.
