This work is the result of the experience of its authors in the formation of values ​​in university education. Methods such as analysis and source criticism were used to integrate the information contained in the bibliography consulted on values ​​and assertiveness seen from different scientific angles. Methods, such as, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction were used to process the information collected and reach conclusions; the logical historical method was used for the evolutionary analysis of the theory related to the subject; surveys were used to obtain information related to the actual situation of the researched problem; and participant observation method was used to verify the degree of development of the pedagogical process of values. All this made it possible to verify that identifying assertiveness as a shared social value is a current need, therefore a new construct is proposed from a new projection that enriches the axiological theory.
