In the present work the design and implementation of a half bridge inverter is realized, so that it is used in applications of heating by electromagnetic induction. The control stage of the power converter is based on a general purpose PIC microcontroller. We study the physical principles of electromagnetic induction and the characteristics of the materials used for these purposes. The method used in vessel identification and electric charge modeling is explained. A block diagram of power and control is proposed to achieve induction heating in ferromagnetic containers. A program is presented in MATLAB to be used as a user interface, providing total control over the frequency of operation of the inverter. The simulations of the power stages were validated by the practical results achieved, demonstrating the correct functioning of all the power and control stages.
