BARROS DIAZ, Otilia y AROCA GONZALEZ, Patricio. Space econometrics and the social demographic analysis.: Application in the formation of space groupings of aging in Cuba, period 2003-2009. Rev Nov Pob [online]. 2014, vol.10, n.20, pp. 1-10. ISSN 1817-4078.
The present work has its base in the Exploratory Analysis of Space Data (EASD); taking as starting point the group of instruments that describe diagram of associations (space autocorrelation) and suggest structures in the geographical space (space heterogeneity): all that which allows a scientific visualization to detect the main space effects. The central objective of the work is to build clusters or aging groups for Cuba for the period 2003-2009, in way of being able to show in a more integrated way the heterogeneity in the patterns of aging of the country in the period of reference. It takes as key variable the Annual Average Rate of Growth of the Aged Population (AARGAP) for provinces. It is carried out the calculation of global statistics (Test I of Morán) and local (Local Test of Morán) applied to the AARGAP using the procedure Empirical Bayes Standarization. Different types of graphics are elaborated as the diagram of dispersion of Morán and the maps LISA; all that which allows the identification of the clusters. The results of the work demonstrate the consolidation of the aging process in the country, polarized in two geographical areas. The provinces of the occident and center present the slow growth of aged population and the oriental zone including the province of Pinar del Rio is in a stage where it is accelerating the growth of aged population. With this results carried out comparative analysis with the national level and with different countries of Latin America.
