ORBEA LOPEZ, Marbelis. Until death us do part? Couple violence in the Third Age. Rev Nov Pob [online]. 2017, vol.13, n.26, pp. 134-144. ISSN 1817-4078.
The present investigation intends to analyze how the problem of intimate partner violence is presented in a population group of women over 60 years of age. The research is part of the qualitative methodology, and is carried out in the Plaza de la Revolución municipality, in the province of Havana. The sample selected for the study was 21 women between 60 and 75 years of age. Methodological instruments such as the questionnaire and in-depth interview were used as sources for obtaining information. With the application of the instruments and the analysis of the information, the hypotheses of the research were verified, as it was demonstrated that intimate partner violence persists in the Third Age, maintaining its traditional forms of expression: psychological, physical, economic and, to a lesser extent, sexual, and that the violence of a couple suffered by older adults is a reflection of a history of domestic violence experienced by them throughout their marital life.
