The article approaches explanatory theories of fertility and emphasizes the theoretical approach of Latin America to the understanding of this phenomenon. This analysis, together with the theoretical approaches of Cuban authors to explain fertility, makes possible the conceptual proposal for the study of Cuban adolescent fertility and its explanation.
