Resumen

ODRIOZOLA GUITART, Silvia; LOPEZ VALDIVIA, Dacheri E.  y  CANO VELEZ, Yiselis. Migration in Cuba from a transnational perspective. Rev Nov Pob [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.31, pp. 138-155.  Epub 30-Sep-2020. ISSN 1817-4078.

The present work starts from an assessment of the migratory phenomenon from the transnational perspective, associated with the practices that migrants simultaneously develop in various areas between their countries of origin and those of destination. Its purpose is to evaluate, in the current context of Cuban migration policy, where the design of public policies that internalize the most recent transnational economic practices of Cuban migration should be directed. For this, it has been structured in three moments. In the first, the most relevant conceptual aspects related to transnationalism and its various forms of manifestation in the economic field are synthesized. In the second, a characterization of Cuban migration from 1959 to date, of its flows and patterns, is carried out, particularly in the current context of changes in migration policy. In the third and last, the main transnational economic practices carried out by Cuban migrants are exemplified, with the aim of moving towards better management of migration policy.

Palabras clave : Cuba; migration; economic transnationalism.
