Inquiries about conceptual maps as a methodological resource for the integration of concepts were systematized through bibliographic review and hermeneutics, in order to disseminate the most significant findings and build a theoretical reference framework on which to base the design of a strategy Methodology that facilitates the development of skills for the construction of conceptual maps in the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Technical University of Machala (UTMach). Conceptual maps as a methodological resource provide teachers with procedures to teach new content based on what has already been learned and allows students to become aware of cognitive reorganizations resulting from the existing knowledge relationship with those built at the time.
