The work presents a pedagogical conception of civic education in the university context as a process of the integral formation of the student. The understanding that is shared of the citizenship formation at present essential relationships of this process, namely: axiological, cultural, which allows to address interpersonal conflicts as a logical process of diversity, positive and constructive as well as consubstantial to human development and to face them from a constructive perspective in the purpose of educating for peace and nonviolence, as a mechanism to achieve a peaceful coexistence built from dialogue, cooperation, human dignity and understanding. The idea of sustaining the formative practice of civic education in the university context is argued from an educational awareness principle that articulates ethical-axiological and cultural elements.
