RODRIGUEZ PAIROL, Ibisamy. Approach to the writing of history in the time of Pedro Mártir de Anglería and his new world decades. Conrado [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.77, pp. 416-422. Epub 02-Dic-2020. ISSN 1990-8644.
This proposal was thought as material for reflection and complementary reading for the Bachelor's degree in History. The purpose of the article is to show an example of an approach to the study of the ways of writing history during the discovery and conquest of America. For this, we resorted to consulting some authors who have been interested in the contexts and spaces of historiographic production, in the relationships between the authors of the time, the limitations of their works and the conception of history. Elements that a historian in training should take into account when examining all the written work to which he will have access during his life as a professional and researcher. Hence, it was decided to specifically address the arrival of Europeans to American territory in the 15th century and part of the legal corpus that served as sustenance. It is also exposed how the Spanish court became the center of scriptural practices and the office of chronicler of the Indies was created, which was occupied by several characters. Among them Pedro Mártir de Anglería, author of the Decades of the New World and to whom the last part of the work is dedicated.
