The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a value-based play program to improve adolescent’s empathy in a female public educational institution at the secondary level of the city of Trujillo. With quantitative focus, applied type, explanatory level and pre-experimental design. Davis' IRI (Interpersonal Reactivity Index) instrument was administered before and after the program, which was developed in cozy spaces for 16 weeks. The results obtained show statistically significant advances in adolescent’s. It is concluded that the implementation of the value-based play program significantly improved students' empathy, what comes to prove that this can be learned, modified and exercised.
