This article refers on the improvement of the continuing training of teachers in the Dominican Republic, and the importance of developing didactic competence in reading and writing is addressed, of child education teachers, with their particularities in the early years. The bibliographical review that allowed the systematization of preliminary studies carried out, by researchers recognized around the subject; it is also based on the experiences in teacher training and in the educational level for which they are formed and in the empirical inaugations of the authors, in the exploratory stage. The result of the analysis reflects the existence of a teaching population with low level of literacy, which is important to strengthen so that these at the same time can develop those skills from early ages. This makes you think on the design of the initial training to ensure that students of the child's career career working with children dominate various strategies to guarantee previous stages and make effective mediation in the early readingment process. The importance of teachers of child education in the work of reading and writing take the realities of this level be highlighted.
