Social and technological problems impose challenges to the school education of all peoples and the Dominican Republic does not escape the situation. In this order, the objective of the article is: to support, from the theoretical references provided by science and technology, the study of the improvement of educational management at the primary level from the performance of the principal as a current social problem in the context of the Dominican Republic. In order to achieve such pretension, the dialectical-materialistic method is used: analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, historical-logical, document analysis, interview and observation. The results reflect an educational management with a high workload in administrative aspects, with little impulse of educational practices, processes without defined guidelines, little participation of all in decision making. The educational management requires managing processes based on the theoretical-practical relationship guided by science and technology to achieve relevant results; under an integrative and inclusive philosophy, human development and linking the institution with the community in a continuous improvement to achieve the desired educational quality.
