PAZ QUEVEDO, Oscar Wilfredo y BOSQUE, Rafael. Environmental sciences and their transdisciplinary linkage with the socioecosystem approach. Varona [online]. 2023, n.77 Epub 30-Ago-2023. ISSN 1992-8238.
A research developed with the objective of characterizing environmental sciences and the relevance of linking them with the socioecosystem approach, in order to contribute to the understanding of the relationships between integrated social and natural systems in the context of global environmental deterioration and the conceptual updating in the teaching of environmental disciplines at a higher level, is reviewed. Using the analytical-synthetic method, sources of information were examined and theoretical references of both concepts were systematized, evidencing the holistic and synthetic character of environmental sciences, as well as the fact that their domain would be the intersection of natural, social and human sciences. For its part, the socioecosystem is considered as a unit of socioecological analysis, in all its forms of organization, which are expressed in the different economic systems and modes of thought, constituting a propitious scenario for the encounter of diverse disciplines of knowledge and overcoming its reductionism to cement the construction of environmental sciences. This approach is characterized by a transdisciplinary epistemology, based on a systemic and complex vision, which integrates several categories: multi-scale, resilience, heterogeneity, self-organization, adaptation, non-linearity, vulnerability and non-predictability.
