Introduction:
the educational work in the training of medical sciences students through curricular strategies is essential to fulfill the social commitment of training professionals with a solid scientific and cultural background.
Objective:
to present the theoretical references related to the curricular strategies based on the comprehensive training of the medical sciences graduate.
Methods:
a systematic bibliographic review was carried out to develop a critical-reflexive analysis of the content of documents referring to the subject studied. The following sources of information were considered: doctoral theses, Medicine career study plans, Resolution 2/2018 and serial publications from 2016 to 2020. The search was carried out in the SciELO and Google Scholar databases, and included the keywords: curricular strategies, curriculum, comprehensive training, and educational work.
Development:
the comprehensive training of the graduate, the curricular strategies and how they are specified in the study plans were addressed. The subtopics treated were: general considerations on the comprehensive training of the graduate, the educational, instructive and developing dimensions, the curricular strategies in the study plans D and E, and the educational work for the comprehensive formation of the graduate of medical sciences was emphasized. .
Conclusions:
the curricular strategies implemented in the different subjects and disciplines of the study plans contribute to the comprehensive training of the graduate, according to the theoretical bases that support them.
