The paper deals with the teaching-learning process of vocabulary in English for Specific Purposes and it is aimed at offering an epistemological study of the main didactic, linguistic and pragmatic conceptions that about this subject matter are found in the bibliography available by its authors; from this perspective, it is offered an epistemological analysis that gathers different stand points and conceptions that have been assumed in the teaching-learning process of English vocabulary in the different methods and approaches prevailing in the teaching offoreign languages.
