The present study constitutes a scientific contribution, which serves as a reference for institutions of higher technological education of Ecuador, its application improved the conduction of educational processes in the Higher Technological Institute of Guayaquil, within the framework of the new law of the current higher education. The objective has been to improve the academic quality through a self-evaluation in five strategic axes, whose result determining a plan that generates the institutional development. The present investigation is based on the qualitative-quantitative, documentary and field paradigm, for a greater observation in the academic processes of the institution. It is worth noting that, the institutional self-evaluation in these axes managed to strengthen the academic management, which positively influenced the development of the educational quality of the same and its institutional accreditation.
