Resumen

The overload is a state of emotional exhaustion, stress and fatigue, which directly affects the activities of the caregiver. The purpose of the study was to determine the factors that affect the overload of the caregiver in the elderly with self-care deficit. The method used was a descriptive, analytical type cross-section, as data collection techniques, Zarit surveys were applied, Data analysis using SPSS23 and interpretation with Rho Sperman, obtaining as a result a female population (17) 94.44%, male (1) with 5.56% in basic education (7) 38.9%, secondary (10) 55.6%, higher (1) 5.6%, 100% are family mothers and daughters, the caregivers of the elderly, salary the basic with (7) 38.88 %, less than basic (10) 55.56%, higher than basic (1) 5.56%, hours dedicated 24 hours with 55.56%, from 8 to 12 hours with 33.33%, 4 to 8 hours 11.11% training on some times 16.67% rarely 38.89% never 44.44% was found Moderate overload 61.10%, Intense overload 38.9%. There was a statistically significant association was p = <0.01. Therefore, the overload of the caregivers involved biological factors influences the fact of being mother and daughter, psychological emotional state, economic repercussions the fact of the low salary for the burden of the responsibility and work hours, social lack of recreation these findings gave the guideline to create educational strategies to minimize caregiver overload.
