For a long time, the EU-Cuba difference has been overcome by the will of many citizens who, when understanding the need for alliances, pay attention to the aspects they share. This work sustains the interest of the organizers of this meeting and the need to expand the study of teachers training in national education systems. The study is based on the systematization of the information and the personal experience of the authors, interested in opening the debate about the problems and proposals that are carried out in both countries. The comparative method is used as an exercise in rigor, which allows us to overcome the differences and contributes to the understanding of the need to rethink together the conceptions and practices of teachers training that take place in the US and in Cuba.
