Currently, it is required of professionals who have investigative skills that allow them to contribute effectively to the solution of problems that arise in society. This article presents a proposed model for the acquisition of such competencies in the students of the Universidad Señor de Sipán in Peru. This research is based on a qualitative current, through Participatory Action Research that seeks to generate a transformation in the students of the Faculty of Business Sciences of the Señor de Sipán University, the actors involved are two teachers and 120 students, for the development of this research Kemmis & Mctaggart's action research model is used, who propose a process by cycles: planning, action, observation and reflection. The results show that by developing actions in which students are directly involved, learning and permanent changes are generated. The development of research skills in students was achieved, improving their ability to think reflectively and propose solutions to problems.
