CEDENO SANDOYA, Walter Adrián et al. Socio-emotional skills and its impact on interpersonal relationships between students. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.4, pp. 466-474. Epub 30-Ago-2022. ISSN 2218-3620.
Social skills are the expression of certain behaviors that people use in their daily lives, and that involve facing different situations in their lives, as well as the establishment of quality interpersonal relationships, through the practice of emotional intelligence. Starting from the fact that all human beings acquire the ability to live harmoniously with others, in any social space, it is essential that they acquire and develop the ability to have good relationships with others. In the school context, this skill acquires greater importance because it allows for a climate of empathy, communication, understanding and assertiveness among peers, considering that the absence of this skill is what produces environments full of disrespect, animosity and violence. In this sense, this work raises as a general objective Critically reviewing the relationship that exists between social skills and interpersonal relationships that occur in the school context. To achieve this, it is examined how this construct has been epistemologically configured from categories such as behavior, learning, attitudes, language, etc. A qualitative research approach was applied with methods such as historical, logical and analytical.
