In the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Pharmacy of the National Autonomous University of Honduras, a Research Laboratory was established in its physical organizational structure for the execution of non-clinical trials, in order to strengthen the research, teaching and linkage processes. The objective of this work was to analyze the quality criteria regarding Good Laboratory Practices. For this purpose, different quality tools and teamwork were combined. Observation, brainstorming and the Ishikawa diagram were used. Together with the results obtained by applying a checklist and documentary scrutiny, the eight main causes and the 22 average causes related to the existing deficiencies were identified. The analysis carried out allowed the creation of strategies to mitigate or reduce the deficiencies detected as part of the improvement process, with the aim of increasing the level of compliance with the quality criteria of the laboratory.
