Resumen

SOTOLONGO CIMA, Gonzalo et al. FRAGRANCE ADDITION TO OLEOSOL ANTISEPTIC EMULSION LIQUID. CHEMICAL AND MICROBIOLOGICAL CHARACTERIZATION. Rev. CENIC Cienc. Quím. [online]. 2022, vol.53, n.2, pp. 356-368.  Epub 15-Jul-2022. ISSN 2221-2442.

OLEOSOL, a hydroalcoholic emulsion with antiseptic action that contains ozonated sunflower oil (OLEOZON® topical) as an active ingredient, is used for deep cleaning of hands and surfaces. In addition to its germicidal action, it is necessary for the OLEOSOL to have a pleasant aroma during its use. For this purpose, the Lavender-Chamomile fragrance was incorporated. A comparative study using two herbaceous essences Alecrim qt. Cineol (Rosmarinus officinalis) and Citronella (Cymbopogon nardus) was carried out. Fragrance at concentrations of 1.0 and 1.5 % (v/v), were added to OLEOSOL samples previously prepared. Evaluation of stability products for 90 days was carried out, determining organoleptic properties and performing different chemical and microbiological assays. Sensory acceptability of seven formulations was carried out, using a hedonic scale. The results showed that all parameters evaluated, the sensory superiority of the formulation with Lavender-Chamomile in both concentrations in comparison with OLEOSOL was observed. The formulation with fragrance content, presented a pleasant floral aroma, characteristic of essence used, more accentuated in the mixture with 1.5% (v/v), although the loss of aromaticity occurs more rapidly at this concentration. Both in the OLEOSOL and in the fragrance-containing samples, the peroxide value and pH behaved linearly and exponentially, during the period of the stability study. Against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853 y Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 strains, the developed products showed significant bactericidal activity.
