MARRERO-HERNANDEZ, Rogej Arturo; GARCIA-HERNANDEZ, Gabriela  y  DE LA PAZ-MARTINEZ, Estrella M.. PROCEDURE FOR IMPROVING THE MAINTENANCE PLANNING PROCESS WITH A BUSINESS RESILIENCE APPROACH. cen. az. [online]. 2021, vol.48, n.4, pp. 95-107.  Epub 01-Oct-2021. ISSN 2223-4861.

Introduction:

Many organizations try to certify their quality according to ISO 9001, 2015 requirements. To achieve this, they must determine, provide and maintain the necessary infrastructure, as stated in 7.1.3: “Infrastructure” of mentioned standard. It is important to measure the maintenance process resilience and based on its planning, to develop actions to solve or mitigate the problems that affect it and thus contribute to the resilience of the organization.

Objective:

To develop a procedure that, from the planning stage maintenance process resilience, contributes to organization resilience.

Materials and Methods:

Techniques for data recording and processing were applied, such as: direct observation, work with experts’ groups, surveys and documents and bibliography analysis, which give scientific support to the research.

Results and Discussion:

When applying developed procedure and calculating the resilience in a Cuban Construction and Assembly company, gaps are detected in maintenance process that affect its ability to react to asset failures and poor assets performance in general; they do not consider the risks or their impact. The proposed actions as a solution include people’s attitudes and skills, allowing to improve process resilience and consequently, to move that of the company from “bad” to “acceptable”.

Conclusions:

The developed procedure constitutes a contribution from maintenance planning to improving business resilience with a preventive vision that considers people's skills and attitudes.

Palabras clave : maintenance; planning; resilience.
