Training mechanical engineers requires an experimental preparation that allows developing problem solving skill in their work area. In this process, the subject General Chemistry plays an important role as it provides professional related knowledge in connection to the training and development of practical and experimental skills in basic sciences. In this sense, a professional experimental method is presented to develop experimental skills in students. The results achieved upon the implementation of this method have been validated by surveys to teachers and the observation of the experimental activities.
