GARZA RIOS, Rosario; MARTINEZ DELGADO, Edith; VILALTA ALONSO, José A.  y  GONZALEZ SANCHEZ, Caridad. Mathematical modeling in the solution of production, service and health problems. Anales de la ACC [online]. 2022, vol.12, n.2  Epub 20-Jun-2022. ISSN 2304-0106.

Introduction:

The decision-making paradigm in which decisions are empirically made based on the experience of the personnel has undergone changes due to the rapid and growing development of quantitative tools. The latter have allowed the procurement of solutions that rationally model the decision-maker's way of acting.

The objective pursued with this work is to design version 2.0 of the procedure for the application of mathematical modeling to solve production and service problems, including a technology that, supported by the multi-criteria paradigm, allows for deciding which mathematical model is most appropriate, depending on the characteristics of the problem to be solved and in this way contribute to raising its efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.

Methods:

Quantitative tools of Statistics and Operations Research including but not limited to: Expert Techniques, Linear and Integer Programming, Heuristic Methods and Multicriterial Techniques.

Results:

All the problems solved through the application of the procedure saw an improvement of the indicators, thus obtaining greater efficiency and lower costs. Conclusions. The applications carried out validated the need and feasibility of the proposed procedure, since it guarantees better results in terms of satisfied customers, income, profits, use of capacities, among others, as well as a social impact in the area of health and higher education.

Palabras clave : decision; mathematical modeling; quantitative technologies; improvement.
