The objective is to describe the presentation of a rare central nervous system tumor in an immunocompetent patient. Immunocompetent 65 year old patient who starts with transient apraxia, is diagnosed with a brain tumor by radiological studies and a brain biopsy is performed reporting a B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It is concluded that the primary central nervous system lymphoma in apparently immunocompetent patients without demonstrable autoimmune disease occurs in 0,3 % to 1,5 % of brain tumors. Diagnosis by magnetic resonance is the method of choice for this pathology, with stereotaxia guided biopsy and immunohistochemistry application.
