Resumen
GARCIA RODRIGUEZ, Gustavo Octavio. Democracy and Citizenship without Secularity. Colombia and the Challenge of Religious Freedom (and Development). Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2021, vol.9, n.2 Epub 01-Jul-2021. ISSN 2308-0132.
The following is a positive way of understanding the relationship between religion and politics in the Colombian context, this, with a view to social transformation, the materialization of development initiatives and the exercise of freedom. Some general and introductory elements to the Comprehensive Public Policy on Religious Freedom and Worship and the Agenda 2030 initiative and the Sustainable Development Goals are presented, as well as the articulation between both. Then, the need to contemplate a shift in the exercise of citizenship, particularly by members of various churches and faith-based organizations, is pointed out as a necessary component of a development project that has real support and consequences in people's lives. Finally, some closing considerations are suggested in which the possibilities of the above-mentioned articulations are revealed, as well as the need to take into account that much of what is proposed by both the Ministry of the Interior and the United Nations at the head of the Colombian government, may fall into its mere enunciation or incomplete implementation.
