Already in 2019, tourism ranks second in the Cuban economy and 4,263,115 foreign tourists were received. Currently, Cuba has 192 of four and five star hotels with a total capacity of 62,569 rooms. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has represented a tragic impact for international tourism, to which Cuba was not exempt. In the first eight months of 2020, the arrival of visitors to Cuba registered a decrease of 68%, being the forecasts for the end of the year of a reduction of 83%. This research has been carried out considering the behavior of the main source markets, as well as the different scenarios that tourism will face, and the strategies and actions that Cuba has been implementing with the purpose of initiating the recovery of tourism.
